170 Vacancies at VETA Tanzania

The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) in Tanzania is a government institution established by the Vocational Education and Training Act of 1994. Its primary role is to coordinate, regulate, finance, and provide vocational education and training across the country. VETA operates under the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology and plays a crucial role in equipping Tanzanians with practical skills that match labor market demands. By doing so, it supports both national economic development and individual career growth.

VETA manages a network of vocational training centers located in different regions of Tanzania. These centers offer a wide variety of training programs, ranging from technical fields like mechanics, welding, and electrical installation to service-oriented skills such as catering, tailoring, and information technology. The programs are designed to prepare trainees for self-employment or formal employment in industries, businesses, and other sectors.

In addition to running its own training centers, VETA also oversees and supports private training providers to ensure quality standards are met. It funds training through the VET Fund, which is contributed to by employers. By emphasizing hands-on skills, entrepreneurship, and industry linkages, VETA plays a vital role in reducing unemployment and addressing the country’s skills gap.
