30 Vacancies at TANROADS

Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is a government executive agency under the Ministry of Works, responsible for the development and maintenance of the national road network in mainland Tanzania. Established in 2000, TANROADS manages approximately 37,000 kilometers of trunk and regional roads, along with major bridges, weighbridges, and ferry operations. Its core mandate is to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient roads that support economic growth, regional connectivity, and social development.

TANROADS is known for executing major infrastructure projects that transform the country’s transport landscape. Some of its flagship projects include the Kigongo–Busisi (Magufuli) Bridge, which is the longest in East Africa, and the New Wami Bridge along the T3 highway. The agency plays a central role in implementing Tanzania’s Five-Year Development Plans by upgrading gravel roads to tarmac, constructing new roads and bridges, and maintaining existing infrastructure to international standards. These projects enhance trade routes, boost tourism, and improve access to social services across the country.

Organizationally, TANROADS operates with a commitment to integrity, transparency, and efficiency. It emphasizes local contractor participation, gender equality, environmental protection, and modern procurement practices. Headquartered in Dar es Salaam, the agency works through regional offices across Tanzania, employing a skilled workforce of engineers, planners, and support staff. By building and maintaining quality road infrastructure, TANROADS contributes significantly to Tanzania’s long-term vision of becoming a middle-income and industrialized nation.
