ANNOUNCEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDIES IN LEADING UNIVERSITIES WORLDWIDE IN THE FIELDS OF DATA SCIENCE, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, AND RELATED SCIENCES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025/2026 (SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP EXTENDED DATA SCIENCE/ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE +)
1. INTRODUCTION
i. The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology announces scholarship opportunities for Bachelor's and Master's degree studies under the SAMIA SCHOLARSHIP EXTENDED DS/AI+ (SSE-DS/AI+) program for the 2025/26 academic year.
ii. The SSE-DS/AI+ program will provide full funding to outstanding students seeking to advance their careers in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, and Allied Sciences.
iii. The scholarship covers 100% of costs, including tuition, university admission and registration fees, research expenses, living allowances, health insurance, travel, accommodation, and language training costs.
2. BACHELOR'S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.

Must have excelled in the 2025 Advanced Secondary Education (A-Level) examinations administered by NECTA in the combinations of PCM, PGM, or PMC.

Must be listed on the official websites of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, COSTECH, or Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST).
Program Details:

Successful applicants will undergo a 10-month preparatory Bootcamp at NM-AIST, Tengeru-Arusha.

The scholarship duration is 3 to 5 years, depending on the program.

Application Deadline: Submit completed forms (attached) via email to ps@moe.go.tz by August 8, 2025.
3. MASTER'S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIP
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a Tanzanian citizen.
-
Must hold a Bachelor's degree and meet admission requirements for Master's programs in Data Science, AI, Cybersecurity, or Machine Learning at NM-AIST or IIT Madras Zanzibar.

Must be under 35 years of age.
-
Must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 or equivalent as recognized by the institution.
Program Details:

Funding covers tuition, living allowances, health insurance, research costs, admission, and registration fees.

Duration: Up to 2 years.

Application Period: Submit applications via email to ps@moe.go.tz from October 1 to October 30, 2025.
4. SCHOLARSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS
Recipients must:

Sign a Scholarship Agreement with the Ministry.
-
Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.8 annually (or equivalent).

Not change their program without written approval from the Ministry.

Not defer studies except for health or social reasons (with verified documentation).
-
Submit a written notice if withdrawing before studies commence.
